ASBURY PARK, NJ – April 26, 2022 – Perennis Financial Planning, LLC was on hand Wednesday, April 13, 2022, to award the Teen Think Tank Project’s $500 Research Associate Scholarship to Riya Mehta, sophomore from Bridgewater, NJ who participated in the Teen Think Tank Project’s health equity research cohort this winter.    

The award, which was presented by the firm’s founder Mary Pascarella, is part of a $1500 scholarship fund that Perennis funded in April of 2021.  The scholarship fund is earmarked for high-achieving program alumni that exhibit the personal, professional, and community values that the Teen Think Tank Project stands for.  This is the second scholarship that Perennis has awarded.  In addition to selecting Riya Mehta for the honor, Pascarella awarded a scholarship in August 2021 to Jayda Hendrickson, a Teen Think Tank Project alum from McDonough, GA.

“Our mission at the Teen Think Project is to elevate teens and help them develop a voice in the world they will inherit.  Part of that developmental process requires financial support, particularly in the form of scholarships that will help defer the costs of future educational goals.  Since we started this company, Perennis Financial has helped underwrite the costs associated with our mission,” said Matthew DeSantis, Co-Founder of the Teen Think Tank Project.  “We are very grateful for their partnership.”

Scholarship recipient Riya Mehta added, “I’m really honored to receive this scholarship.  This experience has been truly enlightening.  I learned so much about myself.  This experience will continue to motivate me to be an agent of change.”
