Teen Think Tank Project Empowers Change Agents at TEEEM’s Mid-Year Workshop

TEEEM Mid-Year Workshop

On Thursday, February 15th, Teen Think Tank Co-Founder and CEO Matt DeSantis joined socially minded teens from across New Jersey at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Florham Campus for TEEEM’s 2nd annual Mid-Year Workshop. This collaborative event, aimed at fostering leadership and social entrepreneurship among New Jersey’s youth, marked a significant milestone in empowering young minds to become catalysts for change.

TEEEM, a New Jersey-based non-profit organization committed to providing students with unique opportunities to make tangible impacts, is a beacon of hope for those eager to make a difference. By fostering empathy, leadership, and social entrepreneurship skills, TEEEM empowers young people to envision a better world and actively contribute to its realization.

The theme of this year’s workshop, “Becoming a Change Agent,” resonated deeply with participants as they delved into discussions and activities.  Keynote speaker Coach Jim Stroker shared inspiring stories and practical insights on how to navigate the path toward effecting positive change in communities, while TTTP’s Matt DeSantis led students through multiple breakout sessions aimed at providing a platform for attendees to explore their potential as change agents, guiding them through exercises designed to cultivate empathy, leadership skills, and innovative thinking. Through engaging discussions and hands-on activities, participants were challenged to identify pressing issues within their communities and brainstorm creative solutions.

“We want to thank Matt for helping make our Mid-Year Workshop such a success. We received tremendous feedback from our teachers, students, and FDU student ambassadors, and much of that credit goes to [the TTTP].  This was our first time outsourcing and we appreciate how understanding [they] were for helping meet our needs. There is a lot of synchronous overlap between TEEEM and TTTP, so we are glad to have been connected with you,” said TEEEM Vice President Taylor DeMaio

As we reflect on the success of TEEEM’s Mid-Year Workshop and the invaluable contributions of organizations like TTTP, let us be reminded of the power within each of us to effect change, no matter how small our actions may seem. Together, we can create a brighter future for generations to come.
