Introduction
In the bustling corridors of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Nursing, a remarkable young individual is making waves with his dedication, passion, and commitment to healthcare. Jeremy Cimino, a nursing student at UPenn, is not just an aspiring nurse but also an embodiment of the qualities that make healthcare professionals exceptional. In this blog article, we’ll take a closer look at Jeremy Cimino’s journey, his contributions, and what makes him stand out in the world of nursing.
A Calling to Care
For many, a career in nursing begins with a calling—a deep-seated desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Jeremy Cimino is no exception. His journey into nursing was motivated by a genuine passion for healthcare and a profound empathy for those in need. After being diagnosed as a Type-1 Diabetic early in his teen years, Jeremy committed to pursuing a career to help others adjust to life as a person with diabetes.
Jeremy’s choice to pursue nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, a prestigious institution known for its rigorous nursing program, reflects his commitment to excellence in his chosen field. His academic journey has been marked by hard work, dedication, and a thirst for knowledge that positions him as a standout student among his peers.
Advocacy in Action
Nursing is not just about academics; it’s about the ability to apply knowledge and advocate for others in real-life situations. As a member of the Teen Think Tank Project’s inaugural research cohort, Jeremy Cimino embodies this principle in every sense. Having worked with other high-potential high school students to develop the research, communication, and decision-making skills needed to address social issues, Jeremy took his first steps to becoming a change agent.
Specifically, Jeremy has conducted his own research in the field of health equity (primarily focusing on the cost of prescription drugs, specifically diabetes medication). In addition, he helped mentor future teen change agents by serving as a Teen Think Tank Project Research Assistant in this summer’s health equity research cohort. His guidance was instrumental in helping the cohort create their policy framework research.
Beyond the Classroom
Jeremy Cimino’s impact stretches far beyond the confines of the classroom. He is an active member of various student groups, including the Stimulus Children’s Theatre, UPenn’s premier children-oriented theatre group. Jeremy is in his second year with the organization and serves as the troupe’s Technical Director, as well as featuring in an onstage role in the organization’s productions.
In addition, Jeremy remains active in athletic endeavors, regularly competing in triathlons. Having played soccer during high school, Jeremy transitioned to endurance sports after recovering from knee surgery. This past summer, he competed in three triathlons.
Inspiring Others
One of the most remarkable aspects of Jeremy Cimino’s journey is his ability to inspire those around him. His peers look up to him as a role model, and his professors speak highly of his potential significant impact on the world of nursing. Jeremy’s passion, dedication, and compassionate nature are infectious, motivating others to strive for excellence in their own healthcare careers.

Jeremy Cimino, a nursing student at the University of Pennsylvania, represents the best of what the nursing profession offers. His unwavering commitment to compassionate care, dedication to academic excellence, and passion for innovation in healthcare make him a shining star in the world of nursing.
