Intro to Social Justice
Our Research
The Teen Think Tank Project joined the Tuxedo Summer Bridge & Ed Camp (at Tuxedo Union Free School District in Tuxedo, NY), a multi-sensory educational program that offers enriching experiences both in and outside the classroom.
The research associates of the Tuxedo Summer Research Cohort spent 6 weeks building foundational skills in communication, research, leadership and decision-making and exploring major societal issues to create recommendations for change. The cohort explored the topics of Sports & Social Protest, Financial Stability and Health Equity & Healthcare to understand the issues’ complexities and develop steps to address the social, political, legal and economic impediments to change.

Becoming Agents of Change
“This program really showed me how people can change in the span of six weeks because six weeks ago I knew nothing about this but now [...] this will help me in the future.”
Mohamed B.Class of 2025
“This program taught me my opinion is valid and, as a teen, even though I’m not an adult and even though I might not have the biggest voice in the world I still have an opinion that should be heard.”
Chima O.Class of 2023
“Teamwork and leadership, together, make a great team that can be hard working and successful.”
Quentin H.Class of 2026
“I’m going to use my communication style to mostly keep information and ideas in check."
Jameson B.Class of 2026
“I see myself able to make people more aware my age because it’s something we don’t always think about, these impediments - legally, politically, financially and socially. It’s something that I actually don’t think I would have thought about if it weren’t for this program.”
Kaitlyn K.Class of 2023
