Introducing Jayda
In this month’s Teen Think Tank Project’s Alumni Spotlight, we are pleased to introduce Jayda Hendrickson. Jayda is not only a talented student at Spelman College in Atlanta, but she is also Teen Think Tank Project’s 2022 Financial Security Cohort’s Most Outstanding Research Associate. We are excited to highlight her as our featured alumnus for the month of December!
Alpha Delta Lamda Honor Student
Jayda Hendrickson, an Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society member, is pursuing a major in International Studies with a specialized focus on International Development at Spelman College. Having “consistently observed the misrepresentation of underdeveloped countries, particularly in Western media,” Jayda was motivated to delve into diverse nations’ geopolitics and economic development. Jayda has immersed herself in the many study-abroad experiences and service-learning opportunities Spelman College offers in pursuit of this goal.
An Aspring International Law Attorney
As a Dovey Johnson Roundtree Scholar, Jayda has eagerly engaged with concepts centered around conflict resolution, fostering international collaboration, and promoting economic reformation during her time in Spelman’s Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program. Her post-graduation plans include pursuing a law degree with a concentration in International Law. This educational pursuit is aimed at expanding her expertise in the field and aligns with my dedication to contributing to the mission of crafting compelling and socially conscious international legislation.
Student Ambassador
Jayda is an active campus community member, serving as a Spelman College Student Ambassador. As a Student Ambassador, she serves as an exemplary representative of Spelman College at various special events and prospective student visit days throughout the year. These student ambassadors serve as hostesses and volunteers who also support the Office of Admissions through various activities related to recruiting prospective students and welcoming guests to campus.
Speech and Debate
In addition to her work in the classroom and on campus, Jayda is a Spelman College Speech and Debate Team member. As team captain, she earned a Bronze Medal in 2023 in the National Online Forensics College Championship’s International Public Debate Association competition.
We wish Jayda all the best as she continues to grow and thrive as a leader and agent of change. We look forward to seeing the great things she will accomplish!
